FAQs

I want to buy a large painting, how heavy will it be?

Like I mentioned, Paper Art is extremely light. Large Paintings over 4ft, still only weigh a couple of pounds, with most of the weight coming from the wood of the framed canvas. Therefore, most of my work hangs just on picture hanging hardware available at any hardware or craft store. Nothing special is needed.

Buying a painting online is difficult, size is hard to picture, and the actual colors may not be the same as the photo.

All artworks have a size in inches specified. If additional photos of the work are required to better inform your decision of placement and color, I am happy to work with you to provide all the information you need via email. You can also include screen shots of the place you would like to place the artwork.

How will you transport the sculptural painting to me? Won’t it get damaged in transit?

Paper is the most wonderfully light and resilient material. I build a box from other cardboard boxes, and fill packing material in between the folds of the sculptural painting. the whole artwork is then covered in shrink-wrap to hold it in place.  When you receive it, all you need to do is unwrap gently and hang up your new artwork in a place you can enjoy it away from direct sunlight.

Paper will collect dust, how will I clean it?

Paper is easy to dust with a soft, clean paintbrush. I usually include a 2” paintbrush from the hardware store, which is ideal for dusting off your painting once in a few months if the need arises. I have paintings I have done 5 years ago hanging on my walls and may have dusted them twice in all that time.
